BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Founder, President: Alan Brown

Alan grew up in Bedford County and married the love of his life Marti in 1987.  They where blessed with the birth of their son Cagney in 1989 (despite multiple doctors saying it would be impossible), "GOD IS SO GOOD".  Alan became active iin mens ministry through his local church as a young adult with Promise Keepers and Men At The Cross (organizing bus trips to these types of events for men around Bedford and Blair Counties).  Alan also was active with both the Royal Rangers and Cub Scouts programs.  After serving with other christian ministries for men, Alan received the vision for Freedom House Ministries, as a faith based residental addiction recovery program for men struggling with both drug and alcohol addiction.  He continues to council men one-on-one and envisions the Lord using Freedom House Ministries as the place where the chains of addiction will be broken and men will come to know Jesus as their Saviour and begin a personal relationship with him continuing their journey through life as living testimonies of the power of Jesus to change hearts and lives.  Alan serves as the President of Freedom House Ministries and became an Ordained Minister through Start Church in August 2018.

Founder: Marti Brown I grew up in a little town of Osterburg in Central PA. I graduated from a Christian school and I was Valedictorian of my class. I have had many trials, heart aches and mountains to climb but I have also experienced many, many miracles in my life. God has always gotten me through. I know it took years for him to mold me in the person that I am today. I had to totally shed my past. At the age of eleven I started babysitting, I would do daylight and then go to another family at night and of course somebody always needed someone on the weekend. Well that was 42 years ago and I am still doing it. Taking business in High School I always thought I would work in some big business office. I actually had gotten a job in DC with a big agency but God had different plans for me. That big business ended up with me having my own home daycare. I guess it takes a special person to do that. In 1986 I met this man, I knew him in high school but thought he was a goof ball. In January 1987, he proposed on the Pa Turnpike (I had taken him to my Aunts in Irwin to pick up Rabbits) I accepted his proposal and I had never been on a real date with him, we were married in November and this year its 31 years later. Now he is an Ordained Minister and I am a Ministers wife, growing up, never in my wildest dreams would I ever think I will be a Ministers wife. I guess it took years for God to mold us both into what he wanted us to be. In spite of the doctors telling medically I would never have children, God bless us with one healthy son Cagney.
Founder, Vice President: Cagney Brown

Grew up in Bedford, PA.  Cagney graduated from Bedford High School in 2008 as top business student.  He then went to Allegany College of Maryland and graduated with an associates degree in business management and a certificate in accounting. He has 13 years of experience in accounting and 17 years of experience in management.  He is also the child of Alan and Marti Brown.   Cagney and Jess were married October 5th 2024 at Freedom House.  He has 1 stepdaughter and a dog.

 Rob Fisher

Rob was born and raised in Bedford County.  He graduated from Bedford High School in 1989 and Allegany Community College in 1991.  He married JoAnn in 1994.  They have 5 biological children, Brett, Ally, Beth, Lainee, and Colton as well as, 2 adopted children William and Peyton.  He is active in his home church teaching adult Sunday School class.  He also participcates in the jail ministry.  AS foster parents we have seen the devastation drugs and other addictions can do to a family and are happy to be serving with FHM to combat this growing epidemic of addiction.
Lynn Weyant and Lisa Weyant were married on September 28, 2014 at Point Church IAAJ (It's All About Jesus).  They are married 7 years to the day they met by divine appointment at Shawnee State Park in Schellsburg, PA.  Lisa was a self described "old maid" when they met, and happy with that status---vowing to never get married.  God,  however, had different plans.  Lynn had previously been married, but his former wife passed away with cancer.  Neither were actively searching for a partner.
Lynn worked at Weyan'ts TV in Everett, PA for 48 years.  He started working there as a teenager, assisting his parents in the business they opened as a couple in 1969.  Lynn graduated from Everett High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from Penn Tech Electronics in Pittsburgh, where he learned television repair and electronics.
Lisa graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School in 1977 and went on to attend Shippensburg State College, earning a degree in Social Work.  She worked almost 35 years at a local Mental Health Facility, mainly as a group therapist.  When the group counseling center closed where Lisa worked, she went on to work in another program within the facility.  Lisa soon realized, however, the new position wasn't a good fit and felt tugging by the Holy Spirit to change her career direction and assist her husband in the TV business, where they worked together for 3 years.
When Lynn turned 62 in March of 2020, he and Lisa decided, with much prayer that they would not retire, but would "refire" for the Lord.  They closed the business in March of 2020 and have been involved at Freedom House Ministries since that time.  It is a pleasure to serve the Lord at FHM--a God filled, God led facility.  Lynn and Lisa also attend Point Church IAAJ and are actively involved with their church family there.
